CHAPTER 19

Quinn

When I woke, I could hear the low drone of voices from the television and knew immediately that Jared was home and watching his nature show in silence so he didn’t disturb me.

“You had a good night, I take it?” He chuckled once I had stirred enough for him to know I was conscious.

“What?” I asked stupidly, still groggy from sleep.

“You smell of sex, dude.” Jared laughed.

I groaned slightly. I had been so tired after having food that I had completely forgotten to shower before falling asleep.

“Sorry,” I mumbled as I sat up and blinked drowsily, glancing around the room. It was still light out, but that didn’t mean much, as it was summer. It could have been eight in the evening, for all I knew.

“Don’t be! I’m glad to know the night was a success.”

“Hmm. Not sure about that.”

Jared cocked his head to the side as his smile faltered. “What do you mean?”

I hesitated for a moment, unsure how I was going to be able to explain it without outing Jase. Not that Jared knew him or would say anything, but the principle of it was important. I had promised not to tell anyone what I knew, and I intended to keep that promise.

“I bumped into someone I knew,” I began slowly. “We had such a laugh, and we ended up sleeping together, but in retrospect, it was probably one of my worst ideas.” Even if it wasn’t really my idea, sure, I had thought about it, but it was Jase who had acted.

“If you had fun, why was it a bad idea?” Jared ventured.

I sighed heavily before the main thought I had been stuck on for most of the day fell from my lips. “Because I want to do it again.”

Jared laughed loudly. “That good?”

“No. Well, yes...” I admitted. “But it’s not just that. I want the laughter, the conversation, and I’d like to actually wake up with him still there so I could make breakfast.

“Careful, sounds like you like the guy.” Jared chuckled.

“Yeah, sure.” I laughed it off, reminding myself just how long it had been since I had been in a relationship and justifying that that was the reason why I was fantasizing about those things. Usually, the daydreams were fine, but more often than not, I didn’t imagine one specific person. Hopefully, the Jase addition to them would fade in time, and work wouldn’t become awkward again.

Still, it was near impossible to forget the way Jase had looked spread around my fingers or how delicious his moans were as I drove into him harder than I thought I’d be able to. Once he was relaxed and aroused enough, he had even met my thrusts with each stroke, making the force that I tormented his insides with considerably higher.

It was a miracle I had lasted as long as I had, though I suspected the alcohol had more to do with that than anything.

In the shower ten minutes later, the memories of the night before joined my hand and me in a joyous self-pleasuring session.
